  • The Power of Play 2024 Conference
    Hosted by Clear Sky Children’s Charity
    Oxford, UK | November 2, 2024

    Participants in this keynote address explored the world of Polyvagal Theory through the lens of play and the autonomic nervous system. The session introduced core principles of Polyvagal Theory, engaged attendees in interactive roundtable exercises, and—most importantly—created space for participants to activate their social engagement system through dynamic, play-based experiences.

    Hosted by ALMA, this three-part training series—open to all ALMA network therapists and practitioners—introduced participants to the foundational principles of Polyvagal Theory. The program included teaching segments, experiential exercises designed to deepen embodied understanding of the autonomic nervous system, and live case discussions.

    As a speaker at the Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools Annual Conference, Courtney led a two-hour workshop on the autonomic nervous system, exploring how resilience can be understood through the lens of Polyvagal Theory.

    Hosted by Chicago Minds, this workshop invited participants to explore the autonomic nervous system through the lens of Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory. Using a Polyvagal-informed approach, participants learned how to cultivate healing environments that support growth and change, facilitate trauma recovery, and guide clients toward new ways of understanding and managing their experiences.

    Hosted by Counseling Solutions, this workshop introduced participants to the fundamental principles of Polyvagal Theory. Participants were guided to tune into their own nervous system patterns and integrate the wisdom of the autonomic nervous system into their clinical work with clients.

    This live, full-day workshop was presented at the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium 2022. Designed by Deb Dana, LCSW, the training guided participants through the foundational biology of the autonomic nervous system, including the complex processes involved in accessing states of stillness.
